Dr. Henry Jr. joined the Zaytoun Orthodontics team in 1987 after graduating with a Masters of Science from the UNC School of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics. Prior to his training in Orthodontics, Dr. Henry practiced general dentistry, taught at the UNC Dental School, conducted orthodontic research and published articles in national journals on surgical orthodontic procedures. He earned distinction as a Board Certified Orthodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in1992. These experiences have proven to be invaluable in preparing Dr. Henry for a lifetime of providing superior orthodontic care to his patients. Dr. Henry has been very involved in our community since returning to Raleigh. His community service includes: Past President and Paul Harris Fellow in a Raleigh Rotary Club; member of the Board of Directors for both Wachovia and First Citizens Banks; member of the Boards of Safe Child and the Poe Center for Health Education, a member of the UNC-Wilmington Board of Visitors. In educational service, Dr. Henry served as President of the Our Lady of Lourdes School Parent Association. Dr. Henry understands and embraces continued educational opportunities in orthodontics. He has also served his profession in numerous organizations including Past President of the Dental Foundation of NC, Past President of the NC Association of Orthodontics, Chairman, Future Strategic Planning Committee of the Southern Association of Orthodontics, and Board member and 2007 President of the UNC Orthodontic Alumni Association. Most importantly, Dr. Henry has a wonderful way with children. He not only is great with the many young patients he treats, he also is a super Dad. He and his lovely wife Mimi spend much of their "home time" with their six children. They are supportive in all their children's many activities. Whether it is golf or tennis tournaments, swim meets, or just playing with his kids outside; Dr. Henry is always there for them. Needless to say, there is not much down time in Dr Henry's life! |
